Awards Afternoon
On Thursday 24th June Rainham School for Girls held its first virtual Awards Afternoon to celebrate the success of students across the school who have excelled and overcome adversity despite the challenges everyone has faced in education over the last year. We were delighted to be joined virtually by guest speakers, Millie Knight, a paralympic skier from Kent who won a bronze and two silver medals in the 2018 Pyongchang Olympics and Kevin Clifton, Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer and 2018 winner with Stacey Dooley. Both had inspiring stories about perseverance, resilience and overcoming barriers in order to achieve success.
Whilst in normal years, we would invite parents into school to share in our Awards event, Covid restrictions meant that this could not happen. Instead we were able to live stream the presentation so that not only could parents watch from home, but the whole school could watch from their classrooms, support their classmates and be part of such a positive event in the school community.
