The School Day/Week

Proposal for Reorganising the School Week

From January to April 2019, we are proposing to pilot some changes to the way we organise the school week. The purpose of this is to allow for weekly staff professional development which will enable us to develop our strengths across all aspects of the school and be recognised as an outstanding school. We believe this would enhance the rich learning experience that students currently receive and further improve outcomes for them. The changes would be as follows:

  • Slightly reducing the length of break and lunch time so that period 5 lessons end at 2.45 pm
  • Replacing period 5 on Fridays with weekly staff training; students would leave school at 1.45 pm
  • Using this gained time to add a period 6 to Mondays so that school would end at 3.45 pm

Please click here from more information about the proposed structure of the week.

Parents/Carers are invited to send in any comments or questions by Friday 30th November. Responses should be sent to RLove@rsg.org.uk
