Balinder - Psychology degree, and works in psychiatric and forensic services.

Balinder is an ex-student of RSG.

"Since my education at Rainham School for Girls where I left with the highest academic achievement in school life, I graduated with a 2:1 in Psychology (BSc, Hons) from the University of Manchester (UoM). My dissertation, in line with my academic and vocational interests, focused on whether childhood aggression predicted depression in adulthood.

My time at the University of Manchester was very fulfilling, and I have found the city of Manchester to have excellent opportunities for those aspiring to work in the mental health field. Following my graduation in 2020, I now work in psychiatric and forensic services in Manchester. This has led me to qualifying in Level 1 and Level 2 British Sign Language, as many of my patients are deaf/hard-of-hearing; which has not only taught me a new language, but made me more aware of deaf-culture.

My career aspiration in the future is to train as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist accredited under the British Psychological Society.

I would like to use this opportunity to express my gratitude to the teachers at Rainham School for Girls who have enabled me to access the opportunities I have today. Education is the most powerful tool anyone can wield, and what I have learnt during my school life has proved invaluable."
