The National Citizenship Service

Local organisers from the National Citizenship Service came into school today, to speak to year 12. They were offered the opportunity of joining the project this autumn.

What does this involve?

ADVENTURE

Phase 1

Feel the freedom of the outside world during four days and three nights away from home, taking on adrenaline-fuelled activities like rock climbing, canoeing and archery. Your team will cheer you on every step of the way, experiencing every challenge and every success. Then you’ll have a few days back at home for some much-needed rest!

DISCOVERY

Phase 2

Next up, you’ll spend a few days developing you. You’ll meet with local business leaders and pick up all kinds of useful skills for your future. From practising speaking in public to learning how to budget, you’ll get A LOT out of this phase.

SOCIAL ACTION

Phase 3

Now it’s time to make your mark. After your week on NCS, you head back home with your newfound skills and confidence to launch a social action project based on an issue you feel passionate about – the more original, the better! This is your chance to feel proud by making a real difference in your community.

CELEBRATION

Phase 4

Finally, take stock of all you’ve achieved. You’ll have overcome challenges, pushed yourself into new and exciting territories, and had experiences you never thought possible. Celebrate your triumphs with your fellow NCSers at one great event before exploring all the opportunities NCS opens you up to. This is just the beginning!
