TRANSITION ARRANGEMENTS YEAR 6 INTO YEAR 7
Ms Bell, as Associate Deputy Headteacher, is responsible for overseeing the progress and welfare of students in Years 7 and 8. Ms Bell works with two Directors of Studies in leading and supporting teams of Form Tutors who have daily close contact with their form and are able to monitor the progress and personal and academic achievement of the students in their care. Each year group has a Year Manager and a team of Form Tutors who usually remain with the year group as they progress through school.
No girl at Rainham is overlooked. High priority is given to ensuring that girls are well looked after in all aspects of their school life.
During the Summer Term, Ms Bell along with other staff including the Director of Studies (Year 7), Year Manager and the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator, will visit your daughter's primary school to talk to all new intake students and answer their questions.
The incoming Year 7 students have an induction week prior to them starting in September. The aim of these days is to allow the students to experience the surroundings of their new school and to undertake a variety of activities connected with learning at secondary school. They work in their new form group, getting to know their form tutor and each other and finding their way around.
